Rooney to end England career after 2018 World Cup

England captain Wayne Rooney declared on Tuesday that the 2018 World Cup in Russia will be his last competition as a universal footballer.

"Sensibly, I know myself that Russia will be my last chance to do anything with
England," Rooney told a question and answer session at St George's Park in Burton, focal England.

"My mind is made up. Russia will be my last competition."

New England chief Sam Allardyce reported on Monday that Manchester United striker Rooney, 30, will be continued as commander for the World Cup qualifying effort, which starts in Slovakia on Sunday.
