President Goodluck Jonathan has again denied charges that he is supporting the Niger Delta Avengers.
Some national daily papers had cited an administration source expressing that another report had connected Jonathan to the activist gathering and that the Muhammadu Buhari-drove Federal Government had started examining Jonathan.
He included that the media reports are being supported by the individuals who feel scared by his rising profile in Nigeria and abroad.
The ex-President said, "It is dismal that the two productions wore the shroud of trickery from the same misinformed characters that are never going to budge on pulling down the previous President, in spite of his unmistakable record of persevering support of his nation and long standing responsibility to the benefit of society.
"There is most likely there exists such individuals who may have scores to settle with the previous President however are currently feeling baffled by the way that his national and universal profile has kept on ascending, notwithstanding their plan of action to perpetual sludge raking character death. Such individuals will remain absolutely determined to keep on throwing impediments, yet uselessly, on his way."
