In an offer to turn away occurrences of Lassa fever and other vector-borne infections in Lagos State, a non-legislative association, Phosguard Fumigant Limited, in organization with the state government, has presented an abundance, 'Execute rats, profit.'
Under the project, rodents in the state will be purchased by the NGO after they had
been murdered utilizing hello tech chemicals and hardware that would make their breaking down bodies non-irresistible, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
The Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Mr. Oluwasegun Benson, on Sunday, said the abundance would dispose of rats in the state.
"We will purchase no less than 20 rats for a yet-to-be resolved sum. In Lagos now, it is operation murder rats and profit.
"A rodent has 28 days growth period and in the previous years, there has not been any strong structure on ground to control them from tainting people with infections.
"We are as of now drawing closer a pandemic with Lassa fever and we should be proactive and locate a more organized way to deal with control them. It is war against rodents and nuisances in Lagos State,'' he said.
Benson said the organization was teaming up with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority to either burn or cover the rats.
"Everything will be water-tight as we are not simply going to murder the rats, we are going to gather them utilizing our prepared and very much kitted staff,'' he included.
He said the task would begin in October, including that it had the ability to make around 200 or 300 employments, especially for young people.
